Kiran Energy

Kiran Energy is a developer building a portfolio of grid connected solar photovoltaic power plants within high insolation zones in India. It was promoted in June 2009 by Ardeshir Contractor and Alan Rosling. Kiran received Series A financing from New Silk Route and two other investors. Currently, 25MW of projects are slated to be commissioned by December 2011/January 2012 and another 50MW is under development. Kiran Energy also has a joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra called Mahindra Solar One (MSOPL) with a plan to jointly develop solar power projects

Kiran Energy JV

International Finance Corporation (IFC) is looking to invest up to $11 million in Mahindra Solar One Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between the $12.5 billion Mahindra Group and solar power start-up Kiran Energy Solar Power Pvt Ltd. The deal may involve $5 million equity investment, along with $6 million in debt, by the private investment arm of the World Bank.
