Arvind Malhan
Arvind is based in New Silk Route’s Bangalore office, and focuses on investments in India.
Prior to joining NSR, Arvind served as Executive Director at JPMorgan Private Capital Asia, where he was part of the founding team, and established the firm’s Mumbai office. JPMorgan started the fund in partnership with TVG Capital Partners. He previously served as Director of TVG Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the telecom, media and technology sectors across Asia. At TVG, he founded the firm’s India office, and led deal teams and served on the Board of Directors of several companies. Prior to TVG, Arvind served as a Principal at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) where he invested in venture capital and late-stage deals in the US and India. Notable investments he has worked on, which have gone public or been successfully acquired, include Sasken, Neutral Tandem, Decru, and Tivo. Arvind began his career at McKinsey and Company, where he developed strategic initiatives for leading global companies in the information technology and financial services industries, and has also worked at Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, both in New York.
Arvind holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (with high distinction) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd., the largest manufacturer of high pressure gas cylinders in Asia, and a BSE-listed company.
